Barba Corsini

Gubi , Denmark

The PD2 floor and table lamps were designed in 1955 by Barba Corsini to be part of the interior decoration in the attics of one of the world’s most prominent buildings, La Pedrera in Barcelona. Inspired by the characteristic appearance of the building, the base of the lamp was inspired by the vaulted ceilings of La Pedrera, whilst the inspiration for the cylindrical shape and unique, perforated detail came from the chimneys. The PD2 lamps have a powerful yet simple character, which also is an apt description of Corsini’s personal design style and fits well into any contemporary home.
