Remington Matters is a design and production studio based in Adelaide and Perth, dedicated to crafting purposefully designed furniture for real life. The team comprises industrial designers, graduate architects, and skilled furniture makers, all driven by a shared desire to create timeless pieces that endure. With a keen focus on practicality and a deep appreciation for the art of living, they meticulously conceive and bring to life captivating products that enhance both residential and commercial spaces. Every item they create is infused with a profound sense of purpose, ensuring that it not only improves the visual appeal of a room but also serves a meaningful function in everyday life.

With a background in alternative building, Founding Director Remington (Remy) Matters began exploring creative avenues through furniture in Fremantle, Perth, in late 2015. Gradually developing his unique design language, Remy expanded his craft and soon began employing other like-minded makers and artisans. In 2018, Angus McBride was appointed as Remy’s right-hand man during his final year in a Master of Architecture program at the University of Western Australia.

Over the years, Remington Matters has expanded its offerings to include a diverse range of products, from tables and seating to accessories and lighting. With a commitment to sustainability, many of their designs incorporate repurposed materials and environmentally conscious practices. Together, Angus and Remy continued to grow their team, extend their reach, and enhance their expertise, firmly establishing Remington Matters as a leading furniture design studio in Australia.

In 2020, Remy relocated to his hometown of Adelaide to establish a second workshop, while Angus took on the role of Managing Director in Perth. Currently, Remington Matters operates full-service workshops in both Perth and Adelaide. The studio remains committed to designing with longevity in mind and upholding the legacy of high-quality, Australian-made furniture.
