The iconic 416 Series, introduced by Artifort in 1960, demonstrated renowned designer Kho Liang Ie’s forward-thinking vision well ahead of its time. Working within the social conventions of the late 1950s, Kho Liang Ie explored the contrast between soft, inviting materials and strong, structured forms. The result was a modular sofa with a striking presence from every angle. Today, Artifort proudly continues to produce this modern design classic, offering the same versatility that has defined the collection for decades.
The minimalist frame of the C416 sofa and armchair combines brushed stainless steel with black powder-coated metal elements, complemented by Santos rosewood slats. Generously upholstered seat cushions provide exceptional comfort while maintaining the collection’s refined aesthetic. Following a careful review of the original material palette, Artifort now also offers contemporary material options, allowing the design to suit modern interiors without compromising its distinctive elegance or timeless character.
