Ala Metal

The inspiration for Ala’s design came from the stands for old plates on display in a decorative arts museum. Ala’s originality is in its visible structures, constructed from either solid rod steel or natural solid European Ash, which support and brace the backrests, seats and armrests lightly and elegantly. An overall sense of lightness is achieved through Ala’s graceful form and refined profile. The seat and backrest are connected to each other using an ingenious technical approach that makes all fastening systems invisible while the curved, comfortable shape of the backrest cradles the body.

Ala provides a huge potential for customisation. The ability to mix and match upholstered elements using different fabrics and stitch details with base components in selected materials and colours, create playful solutions full of character. The selection of sizes and heights available enable Ala to add an elegant, intimate touch to corporate breakout, reception areas and public spaces as well as residential applications.

The Ala collection includes armchairs, sofas and foot stools of various sizes. Seating is available with either a mid or high back, with or without arms on a 4-Leg steel or timber frame.
