F518 Lounge Chair, designed by Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI, is part of Artifort’s iconic F500 series and represents a refined interpretation of mid-century modern design. The collection was developed from Harcourt’s vision of informal, intuitive lounging, with each element carefully considered to follow the natural posture and movements of the human body. Originally introduced in 1979 and reissued in 2026 alongside the F522 Lounge Chair, F518 expresses this philosophy through a bold yet balanced sculptural form, characterised by its deep, enveloping seat and ergonomically shaped high-back shell.
The generously proportioned shell delivers exceptional comfort and encourages extended relaxation. Constructed around a moulded beechwood frame, the chair combines a firm cut-foam base with a softer comfort layer to provide a supportive yet inviting seating experience. Three expertly upholstered sections, available in premium fabric or leather, enhance the tactile appeal of the design while preserving the clarity and elegance of its sculptural lines.
F518 Lounge Chair seamlessly combines visual softness with architectural precision, reflecting a defining quality of Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI’s celebrated seating designs for Artifort.
